New Hemorrhoid Procedure Available

Hemorrhoids (swollen blood vessels in the lower rectum) will affect more than 50% of all Americans at some point in their lives. Common symptoms of hemorrhoids include rectal bleeding, anal pain, swelling, and itching. Topical creams can be used as a treatment, but they provide only temporary relief. For more severe cases, painful surgery has traditionally been recommended to provide more long-lasting results.

Finally, a better hemorrhoid procedure option is available. The Utah Hemorrhoid Center, in partnership with the CRH O’Regan rubber band litigation system, offers a new, simple 60-second procedure to completely remove your hemorrhoids. This new procedure of hemorrhoid banding is unique because it requires no preparation, no sedation, and no post-procedure pain medication. Patients can often return to work the same day of their procedure.

“Patients do extremely well with this treatment because it is so fast and requires virtually no downtime,” explains Dr. Andrew Heiner. “With half of the U.S. population experiencing hemorrhoid symptoms like itching, bleeding, and swelling by the time they turn 50, our physicians are happy to have the opportunity to provide hemorrhoid care that works.”
