Steven Desautels, M.D.

Dr. Steven Desautels received his B.S. degree in microbiology at the University of Florida in 1986. In 1990, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Utah where he was awarded the Intern and Resident of the Year. He also was the recipient of the ACP Merck National Research Award.

He completed his Fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh where he was awarded the ASGE Wilson Cook National Advanced Endoscopy Award for research and an ACG National Research Grant.

Dr. Desautels is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has been participating in GI research, as well as, the inpatient and outpatient practice of gastroenterology in Utah since 1997. He is highly experienced in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver disease. He is active on the staff of Alta View Hospital and is a participating physician on all insurance panels in Utah.

He is married with five children and resides in Sandy, Utah.
